Bending Dimension Schedule for Dexter Track
By Bill Bennett

Material: 1 1/2" Diameter Pipe Size (NOT "Tube"), Aluminum, Schedule 40, 6061 T6
Distance between the Centerlines of the rail pipe for ALL Dexter Track is: 31.750"
The ties are wooden mahogany 2 in x4 in NET and are 3 ft long. There are 7 ties on a 20 foot piece of track.
They are evenly spaced with the tie on each end being located 4 inches from the end of the piece of track.

* In Feet, Measured to center line of ties, midway between the rails
# In Inches, Measured to center of the pipe.

Remember: After the pipe has been run through the bending machine, the first and last
14" of each piece of pipe is straight and must be cut off to enable smooth constant radius transition
from one peice of coupled track to another.

Purchase 1 1/2" "PIPE SIZE" aluminum tubing in a 6061-T6 Alloy, Schedule 40 from:

Industrial Metal Supply
3303 N. San Fernando Blvd.
Burbank, CA 91504

Phone: 323-849-3184

Ask them to "clear" anodize the pipe and include it into the purchase. Anodizing prevents the aluminum
from corroding and keeps your skin from contacting the aluminum when you handle the track.

For curved track you can have the aluminum pipe bent at:

Aero Bending Company
43328 Division St
Lancaster, CA 93535

Phone: 805-948-2363

Give them the above dimensions for whatever radius track you intend to build.
They say they have a 2 week turnaround, but if you whine it will be done faster.
