Nesting Apple Boxes
To conserve space and rest more securely on dirt we found nesting apple boxes
better than the standard variety especially for laying dolly track in the field.
Use a very good grade of plywood with many plys, no voids and exterior glue.
Sand corners and finger holes. Glue and staple, screw or nail together. Paint
with a good quality exterior paint. Here is a cutting list but not how to get
the most out of a 4 x 8 x 3/4" sheet of plywood. If you figure out a good cutting
pattern please send it and we will share it. Finish one set before cutting more
to make sure they fit well. The smaller dimensions below about 5 inches could
be 3/4 lumber. (Called one inch) It may help your cutting pattern and save using
another sheet of plywood. Try these dimensions and let the width of the saw
blade give you clearance for nesting.
